New Dynomatic Tom Arm

Loading...

Anyone tried one of these yet? I saw one on a kit the other day and couldn't figure out what it was. Then I saw one for sale and realized it's the new Rogers Dynomatic tom arm.

Thus far we've had Swivomatic, Dynasonic and Dynomatic. Soon we'll be having Electromatic for the battery operated stuff. Those will be the drums that play themselves. You'll just sit on the Hydromatic throne surfing your iPhone while you attend the gig.

Yeah, it's a rewrap on sale on Reverb for $899. 9/72 shells. Walopus blue oyster. Probably a good gig kit.

Must say I am not thrilled with the look. Have not seen one in "person". Betting they will work great though.

It's based on a slightly modified Gibraltar tom arm. The ball and socket assembly is the same. They just fabricated adapters to mount hex rod.

And, ALL ball and socket tom holder/mounts are derivative from Joe Thompson's original Swivomatic designs. I didn't realize that the ball part of the Swivomatic design was actually more of an egg shape than a sphere shape until many years after they had come out.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
