Need Info About appraisals

Thanks to everyones ideas and help so far. O-lugs I guess it is a "Downbeat" model based on your description. The snare is 14"x4", mounted tom is 12"x8", the floor tom is 14"x14", and the bass

drum is 20"x 14". I only have the original snare stand, no throne or bass pedals.( they broke many years ago). I got the set in 1979 when I started playing the drums (only after playing rudiments for two years on a drum pad because Dad wanted to make sure I learned hand coordination first.) It was worth it. Anyway, the serial numbers are 52648 for snare, 75116 on floor tom, 79508 on mounted tom, and 79565 on bass drum. Based on my research so far the set was made between April 1964 and April 1965.

I am thinking of selling it and thats why I want to get some appraisal info. I have had 27+ years of joy with this set and am torn between selling it and keeping it, but I haven't got the room to keep it and my new set anymore. I just hope that whoever I may sell it to gets the pleasure of enjoying it as I do.. Guys I will send the pics soon, in a day or so.....Camera at firehouse...thanks

Thanks again....

Buy a display case for it. It could be worth as much as 3500.00, If the numbers are right. I seen a 67 on craigslist for 4K.......I thought that was high.

Thanks for the info ploughman. I have been trying to post the pics, but the files are too large...I am not sure how to reduce them...They just won't upload.....This is why I am a professional fireman, because I am terrible with computers and electronics. I guess I need to take some more pics on a different setting on the camera...

I promise the set is in great shape....

Cheri W is doing what a lot of vintage guitar sellers do. They trole for the highest price and hope someone from Japan with too much cash and no clue calls them. I just love a guy who has a $250.00 worth of cymbals or whatever and says no to your offer and adds, "I can sell these to Japan for $600 dollars". This happened to me when I put a want WTB listing on a few forums for hollow logo Zildjian As. I said "Sorry, I'm not from Japan, rots of ruck". :)

Thanks JUST ME. I am glad I found this forum. You guys are all very intelligent and educated about these drums. I am just learning about this stuff. ( Even though I have been a drummer since 1979 when I got this set) I am only 37 by the way so I have been playing since I am 9. I am torn about selling this set or not.....but its nice to know that if i do sell them, that there are people like yourself who will truly cherish them as I do...

Good Lord! It appears the drums are indeed in great condition. There weren't any modifications done to them over the years that would have involved drilling any extra holes into the shells or somehow permanently altering from their original condition....right?

Again, these are very desirable and collectible drums...They are related to Ringo, as you know. That relationship adds a lot of value to them. Please PM me if you decide to sell them!
