Meant to be yours, bud. You were in the right place at the right time. Fate.

Too many great drums to list here!

Nice, but it seems to be a Frankensnare.

Hoops, tunings, heads, wires are period to what they are (1875 to 1920) but the shell looks too modern, badge (badge looks 1930ish), muffler and wrap (drums like this were usually stained wood, not pearl wrapped) are out of place with the hoops n stuff.

My 2 cents

ps: any chance of a better pic of the badge?

Absolutely. The only thing that threw me off was the wrap on the drum, but I did read somewhere that it was available as a special offer in the 30's possibly? Heres a picture of the badge...

And I forgot to mention, when I look into the hole that the badge is surrounding, it is wooden on the inside. Another "drum guru" said that it was possible that whoever owned the set could have ordered the mother of pearl wrap at a later date. It's been a long process of trying to figure everything out, but I must say, I have gotten the most help from this forum!

Customization is certainly possible for anything. The players back then, like now, all tweaked their drums in some way or another. This could have been a retro fit back in the day, a one off for someone or the guys in the factory playing with leftover parts.

Have you taken it apart for cleaning yet?
