My Freshest Catch!!! Take A Look!!!

Loading...

Ive never seen one of these before. I know you could custom order'em but I never had one in front of me. (not even on a concert or a small gig or something). They came along with a pretty faded Red sparkle Star 5x14 snare drum, an old Iron Cobra, a pair of 14" B8's hats, two North Boom stands (I got the hihat stand so Im just missing the snare stand), and 3 crappy no name cymbal stands...

The condition its Fair to Good. theres a lot of fading on the 12". All the badges are broken or torn, its missing one spur and the black palstic wing knob for the tom holder bracket. Also its missing 10 t's and claws and the 13" tom. The rest is there...Any info and comments are much appreciated!

Well, here's a comment- "fantastically sparkling, colorful goodness" is what immediately comes to mind. I can imagine those cleaned up and making lots of happy feet on a dance floor somewhere. Perfect for a reggae band drummer or such I think- very cool. How did you spot them? Can we ask how much you paid? (just for a reference)

Cool set,Yes you could custom order them from Ludwig[with along of other makers]..To me set's like that are somewhat rare to fine in the 3 band color, even rarer is the 5 band color sets..Over the last 30+ years is dealing in vintage drums i have seen a few sets of Ludwigs and slingerland and Rogers --colors i have seen are blue-silver-blue,red-silver-red,red-blue-red,gold-silver-gold,, red-silver-blue[red,white,blue] along with a few other colors..i have seen more red-silver-blue sets than other colors. If you are looking for the Badges i have three of them for sale 2 have rounded corners, one hads a pointy corner....Mikey

Sorry. The amount I paid for them is a secret...(My wife sometimes reads my posts!, this is so embarrasing!...) I'd seen this model only on the catalogs..There was a Camco on the patriot pattern like 2 months ago on Feebay. I wanted to shoot for it but I didnt have the dough...Mikey777 thanks for the offer but I have the badges. Any idea of the value of a set like this? (Ill restore it and complete it). Since the chances of finding the matching 13 are very slim. Ill buy the Ludwig 783 retracting single tom tom holder. Ill check if Ludwig still has it for sale or ill try my luck at Feebay. (they're not easy to find)...

this thread made me go dig out a couple things i have in a similar wrap. not as cool however. ones a keystone badge 15" marching snare 3 ply w rings . the other is a slingy 18" marching tom 3ply w rings. the slingerland will make me a nice kick when i get around to doing something with it.

Dino Danelli from the rascals used to a Ludwig set with two colors...

You can see it in this clip.

And to digress, check out his drumming in this clip...the break at around 1:20 is really cool. The guy was a monster.

Vintage DrumBug, Man those are too cool. I love the combo. I would have never thought of pairing those two colors up. I am not ... jealous of the kit. I'm more ... plotting how to get it. Dang nice set.
