That's a cool kit, I love the satin flame finish, but you really need to make sure they pack those babies correctly. If they don't know how to, pay the extra cash and have Fedx do it for them.

Unfortunately the fedex is a drop-off site only not a store so no services there.

I called the UPS which is 50 miles away and they wanted 100 just to pick up the drums 2/mile and the kids( and I mean kids) had never dealt with drums either.

They gave me a ballpark 500 to pack and ship. No Thanks, I wasn't sure I would let them wash my car from the phone conversation I had with them.

You spent $404 on what looks like a fairly clean kit with hardaware and cymbals. How much is shipping?

Snare is a 74 tama KingBeat. One just sold for 280 on ebay last week. I will sell this on ebay for no starting price and see what it gets me. I looked it up on forums and people say they are great sounding but hard to find parts for. This one looks to be missing the tension knob and possibly more so if someone needs the parts, or they want to replace the parallel strainer for a regular one then it should sell for a few bucks.

On picking up the drums you could always ask hear if any member will help I do this and have never had a problem with a member...Iam trying to fine a member in Colordo Springs ,Co for some help...

Yes, I did post asking for help in the area a week and a half ago. 171 views but no replies.

I got one response on drum forum from someone in twin cities but that is 2 hours one way and I really want to leave that as a last resort. Hate to put someone out for that much trouble if I don't have to. Not in my nature. I have to admit Welcome Mn is sort of in the middle of nothing but farmland.

How far are the drums from where you live? Can you take a couple of vacation days or go on a weekend to fetch the drums for yourself? This is not something that you would do routinely. I would do it at this time of the year if the drums were no more than 500-600 miles from where I live.
