I can see where toes might get stepped on. The bidding could get strange and that would leak over into the threads. I think you may be on to something LD. This is a form of friends. It could get very bad very quickly.
I think the system in place of the wanted and for sale sections works well enough here....I've done ok from both...
Maybe not auction style. but "Buy it now" or "make an offer" format? Feedback should indicate who is who, right? The people already on Ebay or trrying to leave Ebay could import their feedbacks too.
Let me post some of the details here so we can see if this will work. It does have all three auction styles which I believe can be turned off. So if the bidding is not what we want as a group it can just be fixed price. Payment options are available as well.
You list just like eBay with photos, title and description.
It has been available for awhile and the general VB customer rating is pretty high.
