Lyra kit color I.D.???

Loading...

Hello vintage non U.S.A. drum experts

I purchased this 3-piece Lyra badged drum kit

It is on the way to me from just over in Westport Ct.

This past February I missed out on a similar colored 4-peice kit

(double mount toms on rail)with no snare

That kit had no badges, but I know by the shape of where badges had once been and the staggered lugs that it was a Majestic

anyway it was pretty roached out chrome-wise and the seller was one tough negotiator so even though I loved the color I left them behind

But I have been keeping a sharp eye out for another ...and so here they are

These are Lyra 22" 13" w/matching snare drum

And as is often the case, this kit has no floor tom

I wanted to get started with some on-line searches for one

and thought first and foremost I should run them by you guys

and learn what this particular color wrap is actually called??? Kenwood

Blue Oyster Pearl which probably mean that your set was made by Star. If you look on my profile you will see my set of Stars. When they fade they turn green to grey. Look under the lugs to see the real color.

Currently my first set ever 1983 Pearl Export original owner. 2008 Grestch Catalina Maple, and a 1970 Star kit. Many snares including a big R Dynasonic.
Previous Rogers Holiday 12, 16, 20 and powertone snare.
Premier apk and Premier Cabria kits.

Hello Puremusic hey thanks man

I looked at your Star kit and they sure as heck look like my drums

Gosh sakes I can't understand how they could have faded so evenly like that

The first thing I will do when mine arrive is yank off a lug ..^5's

Hi Kenwood!

Even though the color is Oyster Blue Pearl, it was only called Oyster Pearl. I've attached a picture of Lyra colors for you to check out.

I think this is better than Ringo's BOP. Shall I watch my head for lightning strikes?

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I've got a Star kit in the same finish.

Looks we'll both be searching for a floor tom in the same finish now!
