The badge on Jazz Festivals moved from being on the panel adjacent to the throw off sometime in late 1963 early 1964. Ringo's April '63 snare has the badge next to the throw but his subsequent one from Feb. 64 (which he never actually used) has the badge one panel further over. This is a big deal to collectors and the very rare '63 versions in OBP sell for mega-money while the much more common post-1963 version with the badge an extra panel away sell for just big money.

The catalog illustrations did not necessarily reflect the reality of the drum you would receive as far as minor details like that. The artwork was expensive and Ludwig tended to re-use it for as long as they could.
