The grommet looks an awful lot like what pooder has auctioned here,...

Most pictures of bass drum grommets I found on the web are "chrome like" looking.

I'll try to take a close up of the interior tomorrow.

In the mean time I'd love to see a picture of how a factory installed bass drum grommet looks like from the inside. I guess they don't go all the way through the shell otherwise they wouldn't let loose after a while. Why wasn't Gretsch doing it like most others and press the grommet back from the inside?

Anyway, even if the badge was removed at one point or not being all original, I wouldn't be bothered too much by it. With the damages it has, this one is not a museum piece and I'm already very happy with how super sweet this baby sounds!

Thanks,Great looking drums, congratulations.Do you find it easy to play the hanging tom in that position?When using the rail consolette in stead of a snare stand, my tom is in the exact same awkward position. I guess I'm gonna order one of these extensions.I admit that those rubber feet don't look good but on some old drums they do miracles and open up the sound in a way you wouldn't imagine.This set came with them but I used them on some Slingerland floor toms and the difference was day and night.

I do find the tom position comfortable

playing traditional grip its perfectly ergonomically correct for me

I absolutely agree on using the air cushioned feet. You can always keep the stock ones for photos or resell, but the air cushioned feet do wonders for the tone of a floor tom and kick drum. Personnaly, I can't imagine not using them. Great looking kit Stedi. Congratulations!
