Ludwig Standard Drums Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I need some opinions on the value of this near mint Ludwig Standard kit in a bronze strata finish. It's shown with a 12,16,22, but there is also a 13, thanks.

I have a red strata kit. I love it. I polished it up. Put Ludwig heavy coated heads on the batter side and Ludwig coated mediums on the reso side of the toms. On the kick I have Evans emad 2 batter and an Evans EQ 3 coated reso head. Sound guys and guitar players all tell me they look and sound awesome. They are very light and easy to lug around. One note; The kit you have pictured does not look like a bronze strata to me I used to have a bronze and it looked browner than that one.

It could be gold strata, I know it's not blue, I use to have one. Any thoughts on value?

Parts of it look like Avocado Strata to me.

I believe that is a gold strata. I have the same kit. Basically the bronze with some white stripes/grey mixed in. Awesome finish!

I would say that's most likely Gold Strata as well. These wraps vary widely but generally Bronze strata is a two color wrap (orange and black) and Gold Strata is those same two colors with some pearly white mixed in. I've even seen some Avocado Strata drums with a bit of orange in them so if there's any green visible these could be that hard to find wrap...but gold seems most likely.

I have a Gold Strata and a Lemon Strata set. I'm on the hunt for a Bronze Strata snare drum...or maybe a whole set if the right deal came along.

Here's typical Bronze Strata and also gold...

There's a nice blue strata for sale in my neck of the woods, about 6 hrs away, for $700 Can.. They look to be in decent shape, and if he was in town, i'd probably pick them up. With that being said, in the condition that yours is in, i'd say between $850 to $1000.. That's just my humble opinion.. ;) Here's a link to that kit..

Ya, that's about what I was thinking. I know this finish is fairly rare and if we listen to some of the drum gurus around here about being rare and in pristine condition, this may be a $10,000 kit. Excited
