Which drum head do you think will give off the best possible sound on a 6 ply maple shell?

I ran coated Evans G2 tops and clear Resonant bottoms on them. I have a vid of one of my 6ply kit restorations on my Youtube site running the heads. Didn't like the clear tops as much. Ran an EQ4 bass head. I didn't mind the sound at all.

I would have put the kit at around 80-81. The rivet seams and all.

Classic rock/80's metal

Big fan of J.Bonham, N.Peart, T.aldridge ,C.burr,S.Gadd

Yea i also think my kit is 80/81 id like to put some pics of it for all to see but it says the file is too big. Can someone give me some tips on how to shrink the pics so i could post them?

In 1978 when i started playing the drums my parents bought me a 5 pc Rogers kit with Zildjian cymbals, It was mint, don't know the year of them.

They were a glossy walnut, the logo was written in script(not the "big R Rogers)

ever since then i always loved Roger drums.

Which ones are worth anything?

:DJerry you know it's all relative. I started playing drums around the same time as you. I also like Bonham,Peart, Aldridge etc. I also own a 1983 ChromeOwood ludwig kit that has the riveted seams. Alot of people turn their noses up at that era of Ludwig drums. But you know what they make me happy! and I think they sound great. at the end of the day it's not what they are worth to someone else. It's what they are worth to YOU the owner. My drums put a smile on my face everytime I look at them.

I occasionally will use some old black dots, they change they sound dramatically. For some reason they seem to sound better on vintage Ludwigs I've owned than the vintage Rogers kit I have now.

You can resize using Paint-Image-stretch/skew-file
