Love the sparkling red!
Clubdates are like Chevy novas and ford falcons. Economy models that are more fun than the fullsizes!
If I got rid of everything else I'd probably still keep a clubdate.
I love using the consolettes. On beat up ones I typically replace the carriage bolt and nut with chrome ones from the local ace hardware.(I of course keep the original stuff) I use a stubby 6 point wrench on the nuts so as not to slip the wrench.
Even if the consolette is totally worn out you can get a new one from Steve maxwell.
I will admit that the tone can be killed on certain drums, some of mine do this and others don't.
But to each his own. Just some options. When I was in highschool I thought consolettes weren't up to the task and mounted other hardware on my clubdate (a mistake that I can never fully undo)
I play rock n roll and metal my drums hold up.

Here's another thing to consider. I play in a rock cover band, so I generally have to play louder than when I'm just practicing on my own. The last thing I need is for the tom to slip in the middle of a set. As much as we all love are vintage drums, the hardware was not meant to take such abuse. Especially these Ludwig mounts with the clock face that's on the cd drums. So, rather than punch more holes in my kick to accommodate a better positioning and stable mount, I put the tom on a snare stand when I gig.
I tried the TNR Little Booty Shakers for the snare stand. Those things work really well and your "rack" tom will sound great! I think they were about $15-20 bucks.
I recently sold my Club Date kit, but I'd definitely would own another one day
