Ludwig Club Date

Loading...

I had three kits to choose from after selling my dw kit. They were are around the same price. A 70's Ludwig black oyster pearl 12,13,16,20, a 60's Ludwig wmp 13,16,22 and the one I chose, a 60's Ludwig Club Date in red sparkle 12,14,20.

It was the best choice because the other two had an extra hole and a few other minor issues.

Anyway, here it is.

Nice-lookin' kit, jr. Nickel? I notice the FT mounts & legs are not the usual Club Date stuff; I have several drums with these parts, & I have to admit they keep the drum from dancing around. There's also been mention of better resonance with these legs but I've never bothered to check it out. Enjoy........marko

Yes I would also have gone with the Club Dates. The 20/14/12 setup will always be the most popular until the end of time. And then there's the very coveted 14" floor tom. My favorite size of any drum ever. Classy.

It's funny how the center lug style drums have made such a comeback over the last several years. Of course, they were budget models back in the day, but drummers have embraced them lately. All the drum companies had center lug drums (I think), but the Ludwigs were the most popular.

Yeah, DrumBob, I fell for them big-time. have sold all my other kits (except one Downbeat kit i'd like to move). Something about them speaks to me of an earlier time.
