For the difinitive story about Ludwig's black panther finish, see my other thread I started about a year ago....the "Ludwig Black Panther Info Thread"

gives you all you wanted to know about the finish and then some........and I do believe I stated then about NOT "peeking" under the wrap to see if there was another "more rare" wrap under it......all you'll do is ruin the black panther wrap in the end.

BTW, still searching for that elusive Jazzette, any snare, and a 26" (ok, ok the whole Bonzo sized kit! :D) in black panther finish.....

The only way to "look" is to destroy the wrap. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you leave them be....remember the saying curiosity killed the cat? well....;)

I say if it is peeling off peek your eye under. You won't destroy the drums....but, I have heard of several guys finding one of those rare colors under their black panthers sets! Not one in 100 maybe like 5 for every 30....hahaha I'm gonna get Ludwig-dude hot. I still think you should peek a little.:)

I agree with Ludwig dude too. I mean really what are the chances that a phys wrap is under. They are probably just normal black panther drums.

I already read your post. That was the main reason I decided to buy these.

This guy had some zicko dums clear acrylic, double bass kit, he thought he'd knock a home run with on ebay, after a little research I found that the black panther are far more rare then the zicko drums. He also has a very old WFL bass drum and 20" floor tom he hasnt sold yet
