I realize this is an old thread, but the first post mentions someone making the repro bass head image? I happened upon and purchased this set, with the power toms. But the bass head is MIA. If anyone has hi res image that I could get printed so I can stick it onto a head that would be AWESOME. Let me know.

I like these kits because they are something out of the ordinary...

Burgundy, did the 16 come factory with your set? Did Ludwig offer a 14 floor tom?

Cheers

I completely understand that some drums appeal to some people and don't appeal to other people. I can honestly say that the combination of overly-long drum shells, natural wood finish, and goofy-looking bird inlays make these drums an enormous turnoff for me. Of course, I have never liked Ludwig drums, anyway. I will guess that most of the vintage drums I love will not appeal to Ludwig lovers.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Well...I don't like the eagle (pigeon) inlay very much, either...but, these are the types of drums that end up being the super collectible one day and end up on some future equivalent of the Antique's Road Show....

Actually...no, they won't ! ;)
