I think it looks cleaner without the muffler. Just use half or quarter piece of moongel, same sound.;)
Ludwig 6.5x14 Bronze or Brass?
Blaemire / Jenkins-Martin drums.

Good suggestion. Wish I invented that crap. Always have it in my stick bag.
Ha...great picts. Nice stamp, and it's brass?! I looked and my Monroe HB #3425588 has neither muffler or B/BR stamp.
No it's closer to bronze than brass as the PMI test didn't revel a bit Ni in it.
Just so happens that you can't really count on what is stamped on the shell to be the sole determining factor for the alloy. :-/
I have a Black Beauty that isn't stamped either and it's alloy isn't quite brass, it's closer to German Silver or Alpaca - if we make the connection to Selmer-Conn it's easier to start piecing the puzzle together though.
On my No. 903 I just yanked the muffler althogether (like I did on my toms) but left the knob there for aesthetics... lokks good but absolutely no chance for a rattle!!!
I also have a LB552K hammered bronze, bought in 1989. Monroe badge #3240057. Just checked it and there is a "B" above the muffler. Still have the reciept........List $352.50 I paid $229.15+ tax.
Killer price for such an under-rated drum. I picked it up not only becasue it sounded so good but I didn't see that many out and about -- so it makes a good impression.

They also make great bling around your neck if you're out clubin' with your btches too. That and your diamond studded grill should get you in ... no cover. Just sayin'.
Saaaawheeeeeet.... I think I'm gonna do me some clubbin' tonite no doubt with that chick magent.
LMAO!.. Sorry, got a little out of character for a sec. What were we talking about?
