I'm cleaning up an early 80's Ludwig 6.5x14. I have the lugs and strainer off. Right above the top dampener hole there's a small "B".
Does this stand for Bronze or Brass?

OK just did a search. If it was bronze here would be a "BR" indication. So mine is brass. Thanks and goodnight.

Not so fast. I've heard "BR" is for brass, and "BZ" is for bronze. "B" could stand for either/or. Here's a pic of a bronze stamp.
Well now I'm confused. Looks like you're on to something. Mine is a '79 or early 80's and has this stamp. Brass or bronze?
