Left for the trash man--ME! Believe me!

For some reason the trash gods were good to me today. I was returning from my doctor and when I turned on the crossroad to my street this pile of drums and accessories was sitting on the curb waiting for the trash man. I stopped and looked them over not believing my eyes when the owner came out and I asked he if the drums and accessories were for the trash man, and if so I would like the have them and he said they are yours.I started loading them. After I finished I went back to the homeowner feeling guilty and gave him $50.00.

Here are the drums, double pedals, cymbols, and rack system.

I,ll do a reply with more pictures. Tom

The drums are Pearl Exports and I think they are the low end mit drums. Also the owner said there was water damage to the kick drum but said it was one of the storms we were getting deluged with and was wet only overnight. For the life of me I have no idea why he was throwing these drums out and I didn,t ask anymore questions. Right place right time I guess?

Anyway here is some pictures of the accessories. Also the 14" ft seems to be different than the rest of the kit. It has EX export drums and says something about the shell of this drum. Also the kit is missing one Bass drum claw and three ft legs. The rack system seems to be complete and the heads are fairly new and both the Bass drum heads are new.

That is incredible.

Amazing what some people throw out. Not everybody has an appreciation for drums. I had a garage sale last weekend. I put a couple of snare drums out, two congas and a set of Remo Roto Toms with a new Remo Stand and a spare mounting bar out with all the stuff. You know, not one person even expressed interest in the drums.....let alone try to get me to sell cheaper. It was amazing. I mean, if I showed up at a garage sale and there was even a toy snare drum there I'd be all over it.

Ya - I can see how some people don't think like us..........that's a good thing.

Congratulations on a very nice find.

Yes you did a nice thing by giving him some money. But, you really have to wonder if the guy is blind or are these his sons drums and had heard them for the last time. They clearly are not garbage, most people will want to get something for it.

Well anyway, good score Im happy for you.

I think sometimes people think their items are too trashed to sell. I had a Slingerland chrome bass drum that was a complete disaster; dents, dings and missing parts. I put it out by the street well before the trash collectors were due, and sure enough someone nabbed it. One man's rubbish...
