Left for the trash man--ME! Believe me!

Thanks for your responses. I think I,am still in shock, this is two times this year that I have found drum kits, first the super classics for 50.00 dollars at a yard sale and now this. The yard sales and the trash Gods have been good to me this year.

I don,t know why the owner was throwing them away. He was about mid thirties with a mohawk haircut(not Kidding) and told me the drums had some water damage from the night before and that he was moving back to Minnesota? today and had to get going and I had no problem with that.

Here is a few more pictures. Looks like all I need to do is clean them good and see how they sound. Tom

Definitely makes you wonder why he was throwing them away...but like TMNT said...why ask questions. I'm not sure that I would have walked back and gave the dude $50, but good charma move, I suppose. Great score!

Of course there is nothing worse than water damaged drum racks and cymbals! Really great score x 2! Very nice of you to pay him $50 as well. For a $100 investment, I would have to say you are killing it!

One of my customers, is a harp(harmonica) teacher and a learning drummer. One of his students works at a scrapyard. He gets a steady stream of cymbals which sell for scrap value! There have been some surprisingly good ones. I wish I was closer and could monitor the activity.

I wonder sometimes-----how many really good cymbals have gone for scrap?

Yea but these drums are pretty much ready to go. I know they are lower end drums but to just pile them on the curb along with a complete rack system and double pacific? pedals, beats me. I am not going back to ask about the history of the drums. I feel good about giving him 50 dollars so thats it, as they say "case closed".

with one, exception I wish I had my camera with me to show everyone how the pile looked on the curb, you whould have died seeing them. As it was my heart was pounding and I wasn,t leaving them there, scared me to death.

Now I have six player/practice kits. I,am working on two sets and I,am not even trying for more.

Btw These cymbols are in really good condition. They were inside the Bass drum. TOM

I have collected drums on the roadside and also left them on the roadside.Really badly delaminated, rusted ,rotted MIJ's-gone in 15 minutes.Found some Olympic shells last year that went to Mikey.P.A cabs, guitars,a Gretsch F.T.found in the median strip (smashed up but all the lugs were good). That metal yard thing gives me an idea,as there is a recycler in my work town,Amesbury,MA.Good eye!

I think your really going to like these once you get them back together and play them. We've had a couple Pearl Export kits here and they all sound really good.

Glenn.

Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
