I got my stuff in from drummaker yesterday. This little snare had long tension rods that the connected the top and bottom heads with nut inserts on the bottom head. I added piccalo lugs to make it look like a real snare drum

Wow, nice job poppy!

I have a kit that I just bought new, but HATE the wrap! Your results on the rewrap are inspiring. Great build job! I bet your kid(s) are happy!

LOL!!! I'm looking at the last picture and thinking "It's a great looking kit", when I notice other objects in the pic like the chairs, lamp, etc... and then it dawns on me that it's not sitting on the floor, but up on a table - It's so dang cute!!

Awesome work Poppy - This makes me want to get started on my beloved, much played/gigged, much abused 4 piece stencil kit, which is sitting naked, in boxes in my basement :(

Nice job, Pops...really cool. yes, I love those small piccolo snare lugs, use 'em all the time on shallow snares.

Here's one I did a while back...the bass is a 12x15 Slingy marching snare shell...the "low" tom is a 8x12", the rack is an 7x8".

The only reason this even exists is because they were all wrapped with leftover Champagne sparkle scraps I had from other restorations. Had other plans for the shells for various other kits, but figured what the hell ? Was lucky that the marching snare was an oldie, it actually had it's own wood hoops.....I had just enuff wrap left to do this one up....

It was pretty wacky..you could literally pick it up all together with one hand and walk down the street with it....fit in the back seat of a Toyota, too....
