I have some zbt 13" hats and a old zil a 14" and several cymbals. I also have some sabian HHX evolution cymbalsthat are broke. I wonder if i could have them cut down past the broken spots.

From big daddy

Nice job on the pedal! Now you just need some 10" HiHats, a nice 16" heavy A Zil for a ride and maybe a couple of 12" and 14" thin Zil's for crashes.Maybe you could find a couple of used 10" Sabian B8 (ProSonic) splashes for the hats? This kit will be way cooler than a Ludwig Jr. Kit because you made it.I'll go measure that snare stand for ya!

Perfect pedal for that setup....nice job on the resto!

What are you planning for a riser on the kick...or will you cut down the beater shaft?

I have seen bass drum risers on ebay. What does a riser do. I would assume it raises up the bass drum for a reason. I got my bass drum hoops and legs today and installed them as soon as i got home. I put the front lugs on and fitted the bass drum head, wood hoop, claws, and t-rods. I wasn't sure if the tension rods would screw into the lugs due to the thickness of the wood hoop. It all went together without a hitch. I already had the claws and t rods. L@@K

The riser raises the toms and also centers the beater. If it's a kids drum set, you may not want to raise the toms much. If you cut down the beater shaft you can center it better, and presumably with a 16" kick you won't need a long throw for power....again kids in mind.

If you want to use it for a jungle kit yourself then a riser might be a good plan. The riser is supposed to help with tonality also.

My brother in law had a set made for his kid (I won't tell you who he ordered it from, but I'll tell you the kid's got high end gear and he isn't even five and his dad has more money than sense) and he didn't need a raiser or anything like that. I'm pretty sure that kid has a 16" kick and it's perfect size for a little guy as is.

I've got dibs on that kit when his son outgrows 'em. I'll definitely need a lift. I'm 6'3". Hehe.

Okay Poppy - I finally dug the snare stand out and measured it, as well as taking a couple pics. Measured from the floor to the bottom of the claws (where the bottom hoop of the drum actually sits) it's 19" high. That's the lowest height for this stand. The basket can handle a 12" drum as I've used it before for a tom stand.

Chrome is in great shape as are all wing nuts, etc...

Pics below - Let me know if you're buying!!
