I Love The Drums

That's good playing. I like your description of a "rock guy as a frustrated jazz drummer". Fits me perfectly as well.

Shhhh, don't let the Gretsch guys here you say that.

They actually look a lot like Gretsch shells on the interior, no re-rings and a grey interior.

Yeah, that tom move was awesome! It added some visual drama. I gasped and was holding my breath! Eye Ball

Great kit and great playing! That kick sounds mighty! What brand is it? The lugs look Star or Hoshino to me...

I have absolutely no idea, the wrap was removed along with the badges. Like I said, the shells are thicker with no re-rings and a grey interior. There have been some up grades like a Ludwig throw off and cymbal holder, all t-rods on the kick as well as wood hoops.

I had a old pearl kit that I played the heck out , of all drums can sound good if you take time to fix them

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
