This is the 60's Pearl diamond mount I was thinking of.. Not sure though..
Cheers

I used this as my guide for the I.D.
http://www.drumforum.org/index.php?/topic/12820-sorting-the-stencils-project/
That tom mount is looking more and more Star-ish to me, going by the pics in the stencil guide. Just my two bob's worth...✌
The thing that is throwing me is the mount fon the bass drum for the tom. I've never seen anything like it. Haha it's so funny can't find anything like it anywhere. Crazy. I'm sure someone out there will be able to look and see exactly what it is. Right now it's just japanese mystery brand to me.
Have you taken it off to see under it ?
I reckon they are Sakai, do the drums have rerings? Sakai lugs look very Hoshino like, but different, Sakai snare strainer resemble early Yamaha. Does it look as if there may have been a round badge around the vent hole?
Does it resemble this drum?
The brand of this drum set is "Apollo", I have an identical kit with the same exact lugs and constructions. I'll try to take a couple pictures tomorrow as I am currently restoring the wrap on them.
From the interior bass drum pic..
I'm guessing 69/73 ish..
Only 2rings not 3
Apollo are a stencil brand of Star, the clip mount doesn't resemble the one that I have, and the as I said the snare strainer isn't Star or Pearl that I can see.
Hello,
Sorry to correct, but the seller's kit is NOT a Star-made one.
- The tom bracket with the eight screws: was NEVER used at Star.
Attached please find the only two different tom brackets, used by Star and it's sub-brands.
- Furtheron the tom arm and it's construction: is also not Star-made.
- The bass drum lugs with their 'sharp' point: also not Star-made.
Definitely with no doubts.
Sorry - but this riddle is still unsolved therefore.
Cheers, Ralf
