Welcome SpookyDave.

Those drums look brand new Cool1

And Yes, they are Pearl made drums. Here is a picture of your drums (only with Pearl badges) from the 1969 Pearl catalog. I had a kit from around 1970 with the same wrap as yours. -well almost the same, mine were blue.

The arm holding your tom has been changed. the original ones were a bit weak, so Pearl changed to sturdier ones with larger hexshaped arms around 1972. However they were also selling upgraded replacement arms that fitted the mount you have. -Thats what is on your drums. I had to replace mine too....

-Take care of those nice drums, I wish I still had my old kit left. -Sold it far to cheap in the 80s.

Thanks for the info Johan. My only question is about possibly changing out the single tom mount for a double mount without having to modify the kit. Hoping maybe I could one day track down and score one from an old Pearl or stencil kit. Do you know if Pearl's double mounts from that era were drastically different? I have no intention of making ANY extra holes in this kit whatsoever.

Dave.

For the thin hex shaped tom arm that you have, there were two different twin tom mounts from Pearl. Both were mounted at the center of the bass drum. One of them had two holes (one for each tom), the other one had just one hole were you put a two tom holder. The picture from the 1969 catalog shows the two in one holder. This holder would probably work very well on your drums even if it was meant to be mounted at the center of the bass drum. Your toms will of course end up slightly to the left on your bass but this way you dont have to drill any new holes. I'm shure that this holder will be very easy to find as it was used on so many Pearl made stencil kits.
