Ok. Couple things here that need to be addressed. I'm working on a kit right now with bum wraps stuff. I can give you the pros and cons first hand. Yes they can scan a wrap and reproduce it. To a point.... NO they're not gonna leave the scuffs chips or cracks of your old wrap printed on the new stuff. Who wants that?lol. He goes over all that stuff.
Now one thing I can see right off the batt is his scan depends on the drum I believe. So what happens is you get a pattern repeat in the wrap. Especially where the pattern ends and begins all on one sheet. It's been blended well but a sharp eye can catch it. Not such a big deal if you're clever with placement. As far as pearls go, IT WON'T BE PEARL. It can look real close however it won't have the pearlescence that the original wrap had. The original stuff was made with real pearl. And there's no printable way of copying that. But sometimes you can fake it real well. In fact as far as I know, in the case of the run of pink oyster pearl that ludwig just put on a few kits a couple of years back wasn't real pearl either. All this will most likely go for sparkles as well.
Now, as far as other unusual colors...That they can do. And it's pretty decent. The wrap itself is just as thick as ordinary wrap. Do not wrap it over another wrap. It's too thick for that. Colors such as citrus mod and psychedelic red are pure win in this instance. The kit I'm doing right now is in citrus mod. It's a perfect copy of something that no one puts out yet. Iv'e seen some of the more recent attempts at these colors and the patterns were all wrong. He's got the pattern right for the citrus mod. And pretty soon, he's gonna have the proper pattern of psychedelic red as soon as I send him a drum to scan. The wrap appears very durable, but time will tell when I start using the kit. This IS THE PERFECT WAY TO MATCH A DRUM to a kit that has one drum missing a wrap. I'll upload a pic of the bass drum when I get a chance. I for the most part I am happy and anxious to play this kit when it's done. Not too bad of a deal for around 150 if I remember correctly. Also! When working with this stuff, once you glue it down, thats it. On ordinary wraps, you can pull them back up to a point if you mess up. This stuff on the other hand gets ruined if you attempt to pull it up.
