Has anyone seen any Olympics in the green silk pearl??

Loading...

Hello again to all the vintage non-U.S.A. drum folks

I found these couple of Olympic drums in an antique store

down in Niantic Connecticut.

was there to pick up an old Pearl, seven lug, 16", tiger eye pearl floor tom, and while looking around some

BAM!! I saw the bass drum ...which I thought was just so cool looking

a few minutes later in a completely separate room I found the matching mounted tom..

That was it!!....... I had to buy them.

I looked high and low for more pieces but came up short on that.

Back at the shop to get a better idea of what I had

I found that somebody had stuck a pair of pearl export folding spurs on the bass drum

And then most likely that same somebody hacked on a Tama style tom mount to the 12" drum

Grrrrrrr!!! ....Oh well they are what they are

...and a few extra holes not withstanding ..I love the green silk pearl wrap

Mikey has some hoops and other bits to help complete the shells I have

So I figured maybe to start up a thread and see if a snare and/or a floor tom are out there somewhere???

...of course I knew when I bought them,

that I might have to be satisfied with displaying them as they are.

But it sure would be awesome to find those other drums ........Kenwood

Hello Blairndrums,

Thank you for the reply

Oh man ...that is a bummer indeed !!

I often run into situations where some great drums will show up

and at a great price as well,

Only to have all my buying resources all used up.

I missed out on some red sparkle Olympians (not Olympics)

a nice four piece kit for only 90.00 lousy dollars

...but I had to see them slip away for lack of the money

..I have some blue sparkle Olympians but only a 22" ten lug bass W/cymbal arm and a mounted tom with a close but not perfectly matched no badge floor tom.

I might have a stray tom mount if you need it...can you shoot a pic of the mount on the Tom?

Thanks

Hello again blairndrums,

If you take note of the pics here on the thread

and enlarge the bass drum you will see the bass drum mount

there is the identical mount on the 12" drum as well

whoever fitted that tama looking mount on the drum

did leave the original mount base on the tom as well

what I need and may have located through other VDF members

Is the tom mount arm which joins the two shells together

I am at home right now and so not within reach of those drums

or otherwise I would sure take a more detailed shot of the mount

Ok...I see the mount in the pic..

I think I have what you need to connect the 2 drums....

same as a early 70's Premier, right?

I think those are really cool drums. I like them in either green, blue or red silks. There's a complete set for sale on ebay UK, the green silk one with matching snare.

Good find sir!
