Hello surfdrummer01

Thames Imports

It was not a drum shop at all

it was just a small antique shop

The place had two other drum shells in total

one was a modern six lug sound percussion bass drum (almost a toy)

The other was a huge old 28" or maybe larger marching or concert bass drum with a big ugly square shaped hole sawed crudely into the shell

even with the damage I considered it just because it was huge and old

as a display piece in my shop window

But someone already had a deposit on her

There were no other musical instruments of any kind available for sale

(at least at that time) the owner had suffered a fire and he sold the building when I visited It was being redone and transformed into an ice cream shop

upon completion of the ice cream shop the antique business is slated to relocate

Hello Jon,

Thanks very much for the heads up

I am trying to find a possible orphaned floor tom and/or a snare

That is sure a very nice full kit with some great original hardware ..but the bids are already way past my means.

not to mention shipping costs from U.K.

No luck on these same two lonely green silk pearl bass/tom orphans

but since misery loves company

I have three new red silk pearl Olympic drums bass snare and mounted tom

these drums are much more complete and sound condition wise ..but as is almost always the case for me ...they came to me minus the floor tom grrrrr!!!

Would the same Tom mount work on your Green Silks?

I think I have one now since I first replied to you months ago....

I will check tomorrow....

From Kenwood

Hello again to all the vintage non-U.S.A. drum folks I found these couple of Olympic drums in an antique store down in Niantic Connecticut. was there to pick up an old Pearl, seven lug, 16", tiger eye pearl floor tom, and while looking around someBAM!! I saw the bass drum ...which I thought was just so cool looking a few minutes later in a completely separate room I found the matching mounted tom.. That was it!!....... I had to buy them.I looked high and low for more pieces but came up short on that. Back at the shop to get a better idea of what I had I found that somebody had stuck a pair of pearl export folding spurs on the bass drumAnd then most likely that same somebody hacked on a Tama style tom mount to the 12" drumGrrrrrrr!!! ....Oh well they are what they are ...and a few extra holes not withstanding ..I love the green silk pearl wrapMikey has some hoops and other bits to help complete the shells I have So I figured maybe to start up a thread and see if a snare and/or a floor tom are out there somewhere??? ...of course I knew when I bought them, that I might have to be satisfied with displaying them as they are.But it sure would be awesome to find those other drums ........Kenwood

I have sold lots of olympic kits either in plain white....blue silk grey silk but green silk even in the UK are hard to find. Sell them world wide with a good reserve, and as much olympic hardware as possible. These kits are very collectable.

Hello again Sean

Thank you the reply and the heads up on the collectability of these GSPs

I am much better at buying than I am at selling ...that is for sure

I like the green silk pearl best over the other colors as well

Hey blairndrums thanks for the reply

Yes the two kits are identical, save for the color and condition of course

let me know ...Kenwood

I know this has been dead for a few years, but I wanted to see if you had any luck. I have the 3 piece version of this (bass, snare, tom) and have been searching for a matching floor Tom my whole life (I've had this set since I was 5, 1986). Many drumsets have come & gone, but this has always been my favorite & I've held onto it. I'm once again motivated to complete this set & scouring the interwebs. Someone in my area has a 4 piece in red sparkle currently for sale for suck a cheap price I was thinking about picking it up, but the only time I've ever seen another green silk pearl was a Tom being used as a stick bin in Pinkston's music store in Biloxi, Mississippi back in the 90's.

Hello Michael,

It was nice to see this thread with a fresh response

I have had no luck with a green silk pearl floor tom to add to my three

since my last posting I did locate a blue silk 16" floor tom in beautiful condition

And also a second green silk snare drum also very nice

and finally a red silk snare which is missing one side completely and has a few other minor boo boos

Good luck with your ongoing search and I do hope one comes your way first

since your search has been much longer than mine ...but that said if mine comes first it is not for sale hehehe Thanks Mike
