Gretsch 4x14 snare: Favorite Wrap Color?

Loading...

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have an original RB PJ kit with the 4x14 snare, a 3 ply, all drums in WMP. I just acquired another Progressive Jazz snare shell so I will have an "extra" PJ snare without any covering. I need to decide on what to wrap it with and would like opinions. I will, most likely, wind up selling this drum so it would make sense to wrap it in the most popular color, whatever that is. I am thinking about green or red sparkle. Oh, the drum is a thick 6 ply without label or key holder so circa 1961? What would you do?

Thanks

Vance

The 2 most common G.colors were ....

Champagne and Midnight Blue....you can't get MB anymore, so,I would go with Champagne....

[Attachment: 54740]I removed the original WMP from my 63 RB Max Roach that was in bad shape and the wood was so nice that I decided to poly it and keep it natural. Just a thought.

Is that your snare? I actually have the 12, 14, 20 that matches!

I had one in Starlight sparkle and thought it was stunning, so how about Precision's Pewter glass glitter?

I think if you're going to re-sell it, you'd get the most $ if you left it unfinished. Someone may want to refinish it to match a set they have.

I think the Ruby Red Marine Pearl is the most beautiful.
