Zak actually plays more like his "uncle" Keith......yes that Keith.....Moon the Loon........than his father. And yes you are correct...he has stated many times over that Ringo showed him a basic groove once, to which his reply was "well I can do that already dad"....in which Ringo replied: "well you're on your own then son."

I think the point that was being made was that Ringo showed Zak a basic groove, not a Ringo groove, but just the basics. Jason is attempting to show his son how to play Zeppelin grooves, not basic grooves.....there is a difference. One can't expect a beginner to pick up the sticks and instantly be able to play the Immigrant Song, or Achilles Last Stand (no matter if it is supposed to be in the genes)......which it SOUNDS like Jason is attempting to do. The way to do it is to show him the BASICS, then let him take it where he wants to from there. Thats all I'm sayin'......

Guy's the vid is not even 10 minutes long, and if Jason was makeing him, Why is the kid playing the Hi Hat left hand not right handed???? Jason plays Hihat right handed cross over as did his dad,, So there's Individuality right there ,, what does it matter which patterns there using He's teaching him Period!!! How do you know that is not what the kid ask him to show him! it's a 10 minutes snip pit of the kids life and that is the conclusion you drew!! I still strongly disagree!!! Look so you see one thing I see another!!! Jason was not meant to be a Pioneer, His DAD was! and we probably want hear much out of the grandson either, but time will tell not a 10 minute snippet of his life!!!

LOL. I was just trying to lighten up the thread a little with some sillyness.
