14" Floor tom...DONE! I put the original ("muffle strip"? Is that what it's called) on the bottom head and it sounds awesome!

Check out the vintage muffler strip. This was in the FT. Now I'm using it in the small tom. I enjoy keeping the original vintage stuff together. I should put back the 60's newspapers that were inside. Any one ever see one like this?

WOW - those look NICE! Like brand NOS!

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Really a great job - congrats !

Haven't seen such a stripe anywhere before (although it seems to make sense).

Looking great! I love that you got the original front head too! Doesn't surprise me that you love the sound! Those Majestics seem to be some of the better MIjs from that period.

Absolutely brilliant! What a great job!

What did you use on the wrap to make it look so good? An on the chrome?

Fantastic work!

Job well done, they look very nice. Im thinking that wrap is what my tie dyes had originally, at least my snare, bass n floor tom anyway, my hoops have that same inlay. After looking your kit over, im beginning to think my tie dyes are majestics too. If yours sound anything like mine, you will love them. Very good sounding drums. You did a great job cleaning them up. They look superb.

Hey guys, that's a post of mine from about a year ago. That set was sitting in a guys basement, they were his fathers and everything was original, heads, stands, throne and original Kent cymbals. Stripped everything down, did all the chrome with NevrDull wadding and did the old Novus treatment to the wraps. There was literally no rust on these, just a lot of grime. I hated to get rid of it but I needed the cash to put into my Kent project (still in progress) because I got sidetracked with a couple of Rogers projects. This kit is on Ralfs website of Star/Majestic drums in it's finished state. I should have kept it just because of the color. Forgot to mention there wasn't a blemish on the wrap, it was as it was when new. Thanks..Rich.
