So I was looking on ebay as I do every once and a while. S&G's I looked up Tempro to see what would come up ( I usually go through my list of stencil names, ya never know what'll appear ) Found this gem listed as buy it now for $12 or best offer. I offered $5 and got it. Needs work, which the seller was full aware of. Little tlc and I'll have a Tempro snare for my Tempro kit. With shipping it'll run me $17 total. Not a bad buy.
Good buy for $5 - Tempro Snare

Had and sold 2.....still have 2 of them (though my keepers are 10 luggers). Made by Pearl between 72-74. I LOVE mine.

A good deal! Yep, a Pearl snare drum. Has the really nice cast lugs.

I'm looking for this set in this color, but with the single tom mount and the snare. Sentimental value. First kit. So if anyone runs across one please do me a favor and shoot me a message. Conversely, if anyone is looking for something in particular let me know and I'll return the favor.

Rolondover-
First - that wrap is very cool! I hope you are able to find this kit. Track the pic, try to find that very kit....maybe you can convince them to sell.
I know this sounds crazy, but be aware that that kit (pictured) appears to have 3 different styles of lug. Starting at the top & going down:
Top - battleship
Middle - typical more common Slinger type
Bottom - thicker/bulkier Pearl made lug with a squared foundation.
All lugs by Pearl.
The chrome Tempro snare in this thread came with drums featuring the battleship lugs as seen on the top drum in your pic (tom).

I did notice the floor tom also has the Battleship lugs. Batter head side
Looks as though some had been replaced with the Slingerland type.

Jay,
You get that snare cleaned up yet? Looks like the chrome is coming off on the very edge there. How you going to deal with that?
We will be very interested in hearing what your impressions of the snare are once you have it headed up with new heads and can get a sense of how it sounds/performs. Tune the reso quite tighter than the batter head. I tune my reso very tight for high sensitivity.

Hasn't arrived yet. Should be here early next week according to the tracking. Yea I'm gonna give it a good look over when I get it and see exactly where the chrome might be peeling, or if it's just debris / dirt. Not sure if I wanna go with a set of puresound wires, or a standard Gibraltar set. Also not sure if I wanna go with my Evans snare side and St dry top or Remo Diplomat Bottom and Coated Emperor on top.
Once I get the snare all set I'm gonna take some photos of it with my Tempro Red Sparkle kit. Also had an extra 12" tom that I converted into a snare.

I found a Royce snare drum in the garbage years ago. It looked similar to that tempro. The Strainer lever was broke but you could still mount cables on the drum. I ended up giving the drum to a mate. Kinda hope I find another one in the garbage !
