Going Out Of Business Sale!!!

Loading...

Boys,

A couple of my close friends already know that I've been dealing with medical issues (kidney failure) for some time now. I'm at the point where I have started dialysis and because of mounting medical bills and because I have way too many drums that someone else should be playing, I've decided that it's time to lighten the load. I'm going to be putting just about everything I own (with the exception of my George Way kit which is the kit I play every day,) up for sale. I need to raise cash quickly so I'm putting this stuff out at give-away prices, I just need to convert the drums to cash. Sentiment has nothing to do with this. As much as I love some of my kits it's time to move them on... all prices are FIRM. Serious inquiries only please. Photos on request.

1. 1961 Ludwig (Pre-serial badges) Sky Blue Pearl kit in 8/10 condition, wrap and hardware is beautiful and clean. 12", 16", 22" w/matching Jazzfest snare. $1300. - you pay all shipping. Bass drum has MIJ diamond tom mount, otherwise the kit is all original.

2. 1972 Blaemire kit w/Ludwig hardware and black cortex wrap. Original fiberglass shells with Allan's tags. 12", 16", 22" w/Blaemire green-glass snare. This kit is in excellent condition all around. $1300. - you pay all shipping. (I hope either Scott, or Greg can latch onto these...)

3. 1958 Gretsch (re-wrap) Progressive jazz kit from the old Brooklyn plant. The kit has been re-wrapped in burgundy sparkle and looks and plays like new. 13", 16", 20" w/matching snare. 3 & 6 ply Jasper shells. The toms and snare are 3-ply and the bass drum is 6-ply. $1000. - you pay all shipping.

4. 1950's WFL mahogany kit. This kit was restored for me by our own Jeff (JC Cabinets) who is a terrific craftsman. Jeff added a mahogany veneer to a set of 3-ply mahogany WFL drums I had. I added Earthtone calf heads to the toms and the kit is deep and warm to the ear and pleasing on the eyes. Stunning little kit. Club Date lugs, 13", 15", 22" w/matching Jazzfest (J-fest needs a couple of parts, but the rest of the kit is original and all there.) $900. - You pay all shipping.

5. I'm taking serious offers on Big Blue the 1935 W&A kit. I can't put a price on it because there is only one Big Blue in existence.

As you can see I wasn't kidding about the prices. I have set them as low as I can to encourage quick sale of the items. In the coming days I will be advertising cymbals, snares, project kits and assorted other goodies. It ALL has to go.

PM me... again serious inquiries only please.

Regards to all,

John

John,

Sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope things work out for you.

I’m not in the market for a kit but am looking for a 9X13 Ludwig & Ludwig mahogany or maple marching drum for a rack Tom project.

Sorry to hear about the health issues. I am fairly new to the forum and did not know. Will keep you in our prayers.

Unfortunately I am not in the market for another kit however I am sure someone will pick up these great deals. For Big Blue. I would recommend reaching out to Jeremy Esposito, CEO of W&A. I am sure he would love to have the kit.

As you may know from my posts, I am always in the market for snares.

John... I hate to hear about these things your going through. You are one of my favorite people on this forum. I know that the dialysis can be confining, in a sense that you'll have to do it a couple times or so a week, but it should make you feel better. My grandmother has been on it for almost two years and she looks terrific! She feels good as well.

To the potential buyers, John is a damn good guy to deal with. I've bought a few snare drums from him before. He ships in a timely manner and everything received has been packed nicely. Buy in good confidence.

John,

I have a friend who’s looking for a Rogers kit. He has his eye on one in Doylestown, PA. If you have a Rogers kit I can let him know. He lives in Philadelphia so not far from you. All good wishes coming your way.

Jim - Thanks for the heads-up, but sorry to say no Rogers anything left in the stash. In fact, the last Roger's thingy I had was a first generation Swivo pedal that I just sold to Marko on the left coast.
