French GARY PARIS in progress

Loading...

DrumsBros,

here is my vacation work for this august.

This is a "batterie française" made in the late 60's beginning of 70's.

Based in Paris, France, GARY works also for ASBA.

This is a 22-13-16-14 set and i found it in the conditions you can see in this pics.

Some "fashion victims" can do that to a beautiful drums!...

I'm stills working on it, and looking for a good polish creme for this (never seen) rhodoid.

I never heard the sound of that kit but i'm sure it's fine.

Thanks to everybody...

...and the final work will be in this post.

Eric

I never thought of drum destroyers as "fashion victims" before but it is about as good a term as I've heard---made me laugh-----and I thought it was chiefly in the province of women's shoes!. What a mess those were and how beautifull they have become. nice nice work.

I don't know much about les batterie francais -----only a bit of Asba but they sure look interesting. I'm surprised there wasn't more interest in Quebec for them and then it would have seeped over into anglo-Canada-----I think they still even sell Renault and Peugeot there. All we have here is Peugeot bicycles and pepper mils.

I'd be interested in the procedure, how you managed to take off the black colour, too.

The pedal in the very first pic, on the left, is a Premier 250, right?! And still with the lambwool & leather/ felt beater! Cool!

And the WMP kit is a Star drumset, isn't it? With this rare cymbal bracket at the bass drum: cool, too!

Very cool looking set, would like to hear details on the resto also, you surely brought those back from the dead.

I couldnt' help but notice the toothed/ratcheted tom arm tom mount, does it work pretty well as far as stability and positioning?
