Satin Flame is a generalized term, that probably is , as is the usual case, due to Americanization . It might have been the term for a Slingerland wrap but Sonor didn't use that term, although it is possible that the two companies used the same wrap. In the teardrop era , Sonor used the term " Super Multi Brilliant Finish" in the English language catalogues. Originally, there was Silver,Black, and Gold but these presented as White,Grey and Yellow. Later they added Turquoise and Blue and then even later Red and Orange. I don't think purple was on the menu. This gets complicated because Sonor did use the term "Satin" but for different wraps. They had what they called Gescheifert( "Schaled"), which became Perloid, then Super Perloid. By the time it became Super Perloid('66), there were an increasing array of colour options and by the early '70,s there were the wraps Lilac Satin( purple?) and Blue Satin, within the Super Perloid collection. Other companies used the same wrap and called them "Silk".The rarest of the Super Multi Brilliant Finish wraps is probably Orange Shimmer but the rarest Sonor wrap of the modern period(60's onward), might be Poly Pop, which appeared briefly in the late 70's. It was also used by Tacton, again as Poly Pop and by Tromsa , which called it Mexico. Here it is on a 13 x 9 tom, part of a 5 piece Tacton kit.
