Dyna-Sonic Reissue Up Close

Loading...

Hi folks,

I've created an album with a bunch of photos of my new Dyna-Sonic for your viewing pleasure. :) Click here to go to the album. Please have a look!

So far I'm really happy with this drum. It's drop-dead gorgeous, has a unique sound compared to my other snare drums, and of course has its unique snare rail system that I find fascinating.

I'm going to enjoy getting to know this drum and am already convinced it's a keeper.

Nicely done shots. When I got my first one in December, drum number 1021, I also took it apart. Took the throw apart, compared to an old one. I also interchanged each respective parts mixing old and new.

The drums are of an excellent quality build. Bill Detamore did a fine job making these drums. The parts are impeccable. Chrome is super nice.

I don't work for Rogers.

There you go! If The Ploughman likes the NEW Rogers, it is a good drum!

Also, you did a really nice job with your posting of the pictures! Enjoy your Dynasonic.

Okay, so how do the serial numbers run on the new Dyna's? I noticed that the Dyna pictured here has a CA-0016 badge number, but a No33 paper label number. Why both a badge and a label? Does each country get its own prefix? Just curious.

The paper label does not have the serial number on the reissues. The "33" on the label is the model number. Good question about serial prefix -- no idea.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures of your stunning drum! I live in Sweden, and since there seemingly is no European distribution for the reissue Dyna-Sonics, I am thinking of ordering one from the USA. In order to know the shipping costs I would need the exact dimensions of the box that the 6.5x14 drum is shipped in, and an honest estimate if the drum is packed safely enough in that box that it would be likely to survive overseas shipping.

So, please, if anyone out there still has the box that the 6.5x14 was shipped in, I would be immensely grateful if you could let me have it's dimensions. Also, I would need to know the weight of the whole package (drum in the box), or a reasonable estimate.

I am asking a lot, I know...

All the best,

Magnus

Hi Magnus!

I can't help but think that the OP still has the box and will provide you with the requested information.

17x17x9 box on a 5 inch drum

17x17x10 box on a 6.5 inch drum. The FED EX lading bill on the box says 19x19x11, 15 lbs.

I have three boxes. I am saving them.

Thank you so much, Ploughman. That is a great help. Now to figure out if I can afford this...

All the best,
