Wow! That statement sounds like you're reading directly from the Democratic hand book.Violin

I ain't shot you yet JR (I am JUST KIDDING ... re : Dallas - I'm 50 & watched the show).

Look, I wrote that whole thing without trying to get political; & if you read exactly what's there without getting political yourself you'll see that I wasn't.

Let's be nice. I'm trying to. And at least 1/2 of you know that I like to hit the mat.

Uh-Oh. I see a storm ah-brewin'

I see the kit has sold and an offer was accepted. Considering what all was coming with that set, someone got a smoking good deal!

Agreed - depending on condition of wrap, edges, hardware. If all's clean that kit's at least 1.5k+.

Well, when you say things like, a pig that's really well dressed, only the well to do and the economy ain't tricking down, more like drowning out, that sounds like a political statement, much like what I've heard every Democratic politician say in the last 20 years. That's all.

Maybe it is the color!

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I think it definitely is the color, regular Joe's with modest incomes will shell out big bucks for black oyster pearl or mod orange.

I'm landing with Mark idrum4fun on this one. I think presentation is a lot of what goes into sales. We know that from every sector of the economy, even economies over which we could have a discussion.

You want to sell your house, you've got to do what the professionals tell you to do; clean it up and get all the junk put away for the photos. And have plenty of photos and a description highlighting its best points. Same with a car. It needs to be clean and you need to show the good and bad.

This seller has succeeded now, but it is very odd that he/she did not take the time to do a good presentation. I'm confident most of us could have gotten the $1300 or more for that kit (even in blue sparkle).Someone most likely just got themselves a nice kit with some extras too.

Hi Dan!I saw that kit, too. I think there were a few things against it. I think the biggest issue is that this is the sellers first post, with a feedback of 0 (ZERO). Many potential buyers are hesitant to buy high-priced items from someone with no proven feedback history. Next, we have the very common color of Blue Sparkle. Don't get me wrong, Ludwig's Blue Sparkle looks nice, but it is the most common color that Ludwig sold.Another important consideration...there are only 2 pictures! A set this nice deserves 12 LARGE photos! eBay can display up to 1600x1200 pixel size. That's the resolution I set my REAL camera to. Finally, the current economy has a lot to do with the price. Still, a Downbeat that was similar recently sold for $1299 BIN! And, it had the rail removed and a diamond-plate tom receiver installed. And it still sold for $1299! Many of the 12 pictures were fuzzy! But...the seller has been a member for over 5 years, with a perfect feedback of 100 percent. Makes purchasing from him a safer bet.So, those are my reasons! I hope others offer up their opinions as well!-Mark

You nailed it Mark!

Thank you!

So? We see a ton of stuff posted here from the other team's play book. I think that you're unnecessarily trying to politicize this thread because you don't like anyone posting real facts rather than jingoistic pronouncements. I'm staying neutral on this matter even though I liked reading what you didn't like to read.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.
