I almost forgot I also got these old rogers drum heads when i bought the kit. seller said they were original but I really wouldn’t know. I never used them and was going to include them when sold.

Nice kit! What you have is the very popular Headliner kit. I've got the same thing, wrapped in original blue sparkle. Your kit dates to around 1965-66. The shade of wrap looks too dark to be original silver sparkle. Is it just a lighting issue? A possible re-wrap? We first need to ascertain the originality of the wrap before giving an estimate of the value. However, I will go so far as to say that condition is everything, and Headliner kits in VG+ condition can fetch upwards of $1500 for the 3 drums only. Hope this helps!

Looks original to me. The floor tom on my Cleveland silver sparkle kit has gotten almost this dark.

I've got the same era Cleveland Headliner in Red Onyx and wouldn't take less than $1,400 for the three (though in this market, who knows?). With the Dyna, maybe an additional $200-$300 depending on condition. You've got a very nice set there. Good luck with the sale. Someone's gonna be happy!

Nice set. The only thing I have to add is re the shade of silver sparkle. Silver glass ages differently from batch to batch. Some darken (as is your case) and some yellow a bit.

Good to know. I was comparing this to my 1972 kit, which yellowed a bit, rather than turning dark.

I must say, using a tone control knob to replace a missing snare tension screw on the snare frame is innovative. It looks right at home there. Having personally owned snare frames with missing tension screws, I'm embarrassed to say that I never realized they had the same thread as the tone control knob. Clever solution.

the serial number puts the kit at 1964 and assembled by Bobby Collins

do you have a photo of the serial number of the Dyna ?

it is of the 5 line variety so it is at least around '68 or '69 I would guess ... the serial would tell the tale

sincere thank you to everyone for all the excellent info! i hadnt really investigated much of the history of these great drums until the time came to part ways. whoops so, now an update:

i actually had never noticed the color variation in the drum wrap until i took these photos. and i’ve owned them for over 5 years. whoops so i finally had a real look inside the 16 floor time for the first time and it turns out to be a Dayton Era Tower tom. inner color is grey with white speckle. serial no 14809. someone has ran a marker over ‘tower’ but it can still be read. why?? this is the first i had heard about a Tower line of rogers drums. the other 2 shells are verified matching Holiday. :)

so looks like this is a bit of a frankenstein rogers kit? go figure. I’ll attach a photo of the tower tag. I fully intend to tell a future buyer the floor tom is from a different line. but does it really matter?? all these shells sound amazing anyway :)

I had no idea this was actually a modification/replacement! thanks for catching that. now that i’ve seen pictures of the stock tension screw i must say, I think I prefer this knob in its place. it’s always been easy and convenient to get to for quick adjustments. the standard screw seems far less accessible
