very nice
love that color
Those are really nice. Great job so far. The nice thing Slingerland parts are easy to find and fairly cheap. So if you bring them back to original they won't break the bank. I think once you finish them and tune em up you might really like them.
I got them all together. IDK, I just watch craigslist. I bought it because it was black and gold (our school colors) and I was going to use it for Jazz Band, but the set is not very nice. The guy that plays set is a senior this year and I will be a freshman next year. The set he uses are his. The drums are in OK shape, but the tom mounts are not original ones. The bass drum is missing all the claws and lugs for the front and the inlay is coming out of the hoops. It's the gold satin flame color. The cymbals came with it, but I don't like them. The hi-hat stand is an old Ludwig and so is the bass drum pedal. Everything else is Slingerland but only the snare and the 12" have a badge. The rest of the drums look like they never had one. I probably shouldn't have bought it, but I did. I did clean up the snare and I do like that! Thumpy! We have our state band and orchestra festival in a couple of weeks and I'm going to ask my band teacher if I can use that drum. It does look cool. About the cymbals, why are they do thin and flexy? Are they just cheap or is it because they're old? Julia
It`s because they are for jazz or elevator music.
Young lady.....You don`t know what you have, do you ?
I`ll start by saying you have $300 Hi Hats ....all day long
Here is a picture of the 13". I have only cleaned the 13", the 12" and the snare. They are really dirty so I'm only allowed to bring them in the house to clean them 1 at a time.
Julia,
You did VERY well. Very smart purchase. Hold onto those valuable 15" high-hats until you absolutely need to sell them. You won't come across those again. (Actually, given your luck, you'll probably find another pair next week for $20!)
Oh, and about being allowed to only bring one dirty drum into the house at a time... that doesn't change once you grow up and get married :p
But as long as you can bring in as many clean drums as you wish, then life is good!
I agree, hold on to the cymbals its very easy to sell things, very difficult to find again.
