Cowbell

I'm looking for a 50s cowbell that will attach to the Slingerland mount in the pics. I've seen a few here and there that attach to a post style mount, but none yet that look like they would work with this one.

Thanks !!

I have that same setup. I will look around, I think I have an old Ludwig cowbell that will work.

30's Radio King - 26, 13, 13, 16
49 - WFL Ray McKinley - 26, 13, 16
58 - Slingerland Duco
58 - Slingerland Krupa Deluxe
70 - Ludwig Champagne Sparkle - 20, 12, 14
70 - Ludwig Champagne Sparkle - 22 (need), 13, 16
And some others..

The old gold colored Ludwig ones are funny. I use one and they have a different sound than the LP's. The LP's are authentic sounding. The Ludwig ones sound good but somewhat comical, sorta cheap, very Spike Milligan. More appropriate for a vintage set to me.

Mastro,

Hold on to that Ludwig Gold Tone; they go for a lot of money.

Anyone have a pic of a Ludwig Gold Tone? I have an old Ludwig cowbell. What makes one a Gold Tone?

Currently playing for loud rock and roll gigs:
1982 Ludwig Classic in white Cortex, 24-13-14-18 + Coliseum snare
For quieter gigs:
Early '70s Whitehall Tiger Eye Pearl 20-12-14-14
Neglected but thinking about:
Early '70s Sonor Champions in Rosewood, 22-12-13-16

I didn't know what it was, it came with a kit and got tossed in the "stuff" box. I think I'll put it on a shelf in my office. All I need is my 9 year old running around doing the more cowbell dance with this one..

I did a search and one of these with the mount went for $250.

Search "livestock cow bell", I did and there might be something more like the old vintage stuff (read early traps here, maybe earlier than 50s though) available at the price that you could easily try a few different ones. They seem to mention in their promo that they can be heard a long way off. Just a thought.
