From vintagemore2000

I went to the factory in 1980 in huntsville Al. Got to go into the shell room. I pickup a chrome over wood 6 1/2x14" snare drum used it for a lot of years sold it about 14 years ago.

Those snares sound great, don't they?? I really love how bright mine sounds.

Nice guys.. Reviving the Corder thread! That brushed copper kit looks sweet.

Attached are photos of my 22" kick which I finally found proper fibes claws for. I used key style tension rods since fibes/corder rods are hard to find and they also seem to bend easily.

The other photo is my jasper 15" NOS shell I bought from a guy on the forum.. It came from a pile of shells which were refused by gretsch due to flaws. I found that the flaw with this one was ply separation on the inside.

A woodworker friend of mine came up with this gluing jig... We will see how it works. Still need to cut edges and drill/wrap

And bloody brilliant it is! Tension from outside and inside, the 'right way' to do the job. That shell will make for a great sounding drum. Really nice work.

John

Too many great drums to list here!
