Those look great! A successful experiment indeed :)

As big fan of those MIJ drums and an amateur restorer, I am in awe of the amazing job you did! Simply beautiful! As a writer, I simply can't come up with enough superlatives! Remarkable, sir!!!!!

Thank you everyone! John, check out the site www.paintwithpearl.com they do have a few red colors, I think. You could probably paint the drum a burgendy color for a base coat then do on of the reds. I will definatly be doing one again. I just need to make me a Purdie Shuffle turntable to make it even easier yet. The base coat yeally plays a big part and thats where you need to " experiment"

'Danger' is my middle name! After seeing how yours came out, I'm going to go for it. I have to try it on at least one kit. Although, I'm more likely to go with a candy finish that closely resembles the old Gretsch Cadillac Green. I've been itching to put that color on a drum set for the longest time.

Thanks for the encouragement I got from seeing your results. Bang-on good stuff, Jeff.

John

Thanks again! it was pretty darn easy. I talked to a guy at a Music go round store today and might trade them for a really cool mij kit with one of those red and blue swirly wraps. If I do it, I will post pictures for sure.

thank you,

Jeff C
