Nice work Adam. What tool did you use to cut and trim the wrap.

Looks like you have the glass glitter down pat. Kudos! I blew it trying to apply tri-color to a stripped Dynasonic marching snare. Are you locating the seams on lug centers where Rogers had placed them originally or will they be somewhere in the open areas of the shell?

Behind lugs. Both are opposite the badge and to the right. Bass will have them behind the spur mounts because I would have needed another sheet to make the bottom piece long enough to get a good 2 inch overlap and get it under the lugs.

Family picture night!

I'm very happy. Time to drill some hardware holes (after a good glue setting period).

I think you've really honoured the amazing workmanship on these shells with your own. I'll bet two things - they look even better in person, and they're going to sound fantastic!

Two inch overlap is probably what should have been used from day one at the factory, and you are right about the length on the bottom of the bass. When I ordered material from Precision, I've had to make sure they provide a piece long enough to span the distance across the four sets of lugs on the lower side of the drum.

Let us know what you use for the drill inside the 12" tom. That takes a pretty small unit.

Adam,

Boy these are looking great, and you're paying all the right attention to the details. Reading back on this thread, I didn't see any description of your painting method. Were the interiors sprayed, brushed, or rolled?
