Carmine Appice's Thermogloss kit, late 60s

Looks like a 14x24 and a 14x26 to me. Both look to be the same depth and, while deeper ones aren't unheard of, they are pretty uncommon from that era. I suppose if anyone could have got them made it would be an endorser like Carmine but the proportions look like 14" depth to me.

And then there's another bass drum pictured that's a bit of a mess (sideways cymbal arm and off center tom holder bracket)...which looks like a 22" to me and doesn't seem to correlate to any of the bass drums in the picture with Carmine standing by the drums.

I was going to grab the photos and repost them here but they seem to be some weird format that my laptop can't deal with.

Didn't either Carmine or Bonzo sell this kit to Paul Thompson from Brian Ferry/Roxy Music?.Is he now selling it on behalf of Carmine or vice versa?,

Or did Carmine buy it off Paul Thompson?,

Or is this a completely, totally different kit altogether?.

Paul Thompson, also mentioned in the Geoff Nicholl's book, had Bonzo's kit..This is Carmine's kit, which is a totally different kit altogether. Carmine's kit at one point had additional smaller toms or concert toms in 6-8-10, which i have seen in some pics on the internet.. Now was it part of the original kit that was used on the '69 tour with Zeppelin, or were they later add-ons in the 70's ? I don't know.. Could very well be.

One of the BD`s shows a grommet with the blue/olive badge foot print on it.

i have 2 pics that show carmine did mix 60's and 70's ludwig thermo kits for whatever reason.

those pics are too small to post but here's some pics of bonham's kit that paul thompson has / had, and some of carmine's kits. note the cymbal mount on the kick. it may or may not be the same one as in the ad (or its turned around)

The third pic you show, has the tom holder, cymbal mount and badge that is missing in the first page photo`s. It`s the same drum with the pointy badge missing.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

The final pic of Carmine's kit is exactly the set up i was thinking of..

He also used this set with Rod Stewart, and later with Ozzy, or at least in the Bark at the Moon video ! Not sure if Carmine ever toured with Ozzy. I do know that his bro Vinny toured with Sabbath during the DIO Live Evil tour and era..

Carmine at 2:00 , can't really see the kit, except for two concert toms

Here's his '76 kit. The narrator says the kicks are 15x24s. Thought that was odd.
