Carl Palmer

Yeah, I loved Carl's playing with ELP. He had a certain level of British smugness that seemed to go along with his soul-less-yet-orchestral style. He wasn't what I would ever call a pocket drummer, in other words! But, he was perfect for that band. He's also pretty big on physical conditioning....maybe a big reason he's still playing so well.

Try and make that stick save in the video,... Show me the way to go home, I`m tired and I wanna go to bed, I had a littler drink about an hour ago, and it went strait to my head. Wherever I may roam, by land by sea or phone, you can always hear me singing this song, show me the way to go home, Bomp Bomp bomp !

Carl made the great stick save in the video, and ELP sang that Jaws song,....You've managed to confuse the confused.

He`s gonna say,.."I knew that"

I was lucky enough to see ELP opening for Jethro Tull-should have been the other way around---But he smoked on drums and had his chrome kit.I watched his solo through some binoculars It was sheer bliss....V

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Those are not even close, you can speed up the video all you want to make it appear.

Everything Buddy played on the drums he can play on a kitchen countertop or a door knob.

I listened to ELP when I was young, Buddy`s always been big band, Carl`s always been big kit. The two are not played the same.

Two great drummers but they played totally different.
