Carbon Fiber vs Titanium snares

Loading...

Have you checked ebay lately... Ludwig hammered bronze is going for between $500.00 - $950.00! DOH

Not so easily replaceable... so -don't- spill your beer on it! :p

Wow. Lots of off-topic chitchat.

I've owned both. Ti sounds like a metal snare, albeit one with moongel on its head. CF sounds like a wood drum, either a vintage one (tuned low) or a modern birch (tuned high).

I sold my Luddie Chief some time ago, not because of its sound but because I'd never take it out and play it. Still have 4 CF snares in different sizes.

Off topic? Well, only in the strictest definition of "off topic" I would say. Still quite on TOPIC as the discussion was fleshed out to include other specimen's for consideration. Now, knowing Slingerand as I do, there is no doubt that he found this discussion enlightening. CF... Ti... or maybe even Hammered Bronze! It's all good information, and it's all about drums!

I guess I can post a thread of my snares.

Fair warning, they are not very vintage....
