Ah, the Harley shop. I called a local custom shop for info... led to a do-it-yourself bead blasting place, and a great polishing shop. Both way out of the way, not in the phone book, one-man-show shops.

They are GREAT resources for materials and people!

I would personally get it online. Ebay is easiest and by the time you waste gas to go local and that you will be far exceeding the price of this most likely. I would get the 8oz bottles I will give you the link too. I got the 2oz and wish I would have gotten the 8oz. Heres the link for you...

You're probably right -- I won't be able to get around to polishing until next weekend.

But I wouldn't really need three different compounds would I -- maybe for a really classy vintage kit, but this is pretty low end...

Getting it online is likely the way to go. I have a couple other projects (can you say ADD?) that I'll get parts for early next week....

two Slingerland Tempo Kings, one Speed King, a newly acquired SLignerland "Super Speed" - which I didn;t really like, one the first test drive, but I suspect there's a fair bit of goop.

Well as far as I know you need 1 & 2 fo sho. #3 would be good to just have around just in case. I usually use #3 anyways just because it will cut better than the #2 and get through stuff like smoke over the years. I noticed that when I used the #3 is it really made them have the color back. Its up to you though. You can use it on cd's and all kind of other plastics too.

I use Gel Gloss and leave the texture alone.Killer shine!

Chances are the texture you're feeling is one of two things.

1.) Grit and crap on the surface, a good cleaning will remove it.

2.0The wrap has "sunk" around the sparkle bits due to time and head. The plastic shrinks over time, the metal flake does not.

I'm betting the wrap has shrunk...

What would help take scratches out of a 3-D Moire wrap, such as what Gretsch and Slingerland used? Also what would be good for shining up said wrap? Thank you.
