Bought cheap drums. Got a Pearl B-4514LXDC (aka Jupiter)

Loading...

I saw a drumkit for sale online and the snare called my attention. I looked carefuly and found to be an 80's Pearl brass snare with die cast hoops. There was a 16" Sabian AAX Dark crash mixed with Paiste 101 hi-hats and a Meinl hi-hat bottom (used as crash). The tom-tom looked like a Ludwig and if so would be a Plus to me.

I decided to bought it since I didn't have a brass snare and the AAX would be nice to have.

When I got it I found out the tom-tom is not Ludwig. It looks like eastern european drum.

Check the photos below.

This drumhead looks so cool! It's a shame that the bass drum pedal left some marks on it. I never saw a Remo head like this by the way.

This lugs look like steel. They are rusted and some of them have the lug nut soldered to the lug itself. Strange...

The tape maybe was used to prevent the ply separation

I'm not sure if this felt beater was homemade or came from factory. It has multiple felt layers. Looks cool.

Do you know where this came from? It feels sturdy. English made?

How many have seen hi-hat stands with Guitar Hero pedal? It works by the way.

Nice score on the Jup!

I have the same COB shell on the non Jupiter version. Is that throw stock though?

Found it!!

@EricP I am not sure if it is all stock. I noticed some bolts with socket head. I added a photo on the first post (last picture). If you notice something else please let me know. Cheers

Yes the throw is stock. It's a S017, is what the entire set up is in the parts catalog. Great score on the Jupiter. The snare wires look to be in good shape which is good. Its damn near impossible to find replacements.

Looking for a late 80's to early 90's, preferably Arctic White Pearl MLX 14x14 floor tom.
