Aria Jazz Size Kit

Loading...

My personal collection consists solely of American-made vintage kits and single items. However, I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what they'd consider "fair market value" for the kit in the pic I've posted. The brand is Aria and it appears that the shells have reinforcement rings. Sizes are 20/12/14. It comes with the matching snare, some Paiste "hats", some sort of cymbal stand and throne. I normally wouldn't even consider this kit but I really do like the wrap. Unfortunately I have absolutely no clue if it would even be worth considering.

Anyone "words of wisdom" would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Well.....its up to you, but do you really like that "Root Beer" wrap?

It does nothing for me, personally.

I'd say that this set is worth $250 tops if everything is in good condition.

From what the current owner told me the wrap's not nearly as dark as it appears in the pic. However, I must say that as a kid I grew up on a street that had an A&W root beer stand on the corner. Perhaps that explains my "attraction" to it!Laughing H

These are not typical for MIJ's.Looks like it's got cast rims (uncommon)an 8-lug snare (uncommon)and possibly horizontal wood plies (uncommon). These need a closer inspection,in my opinion.Someone had recently mentioned maple MIJ's on this forum.Maybe-MAYBE-these are them.

It's really hard to justify a higher price than the $250 already mentioned, because you will still have the low quality hardware to contend with, even if the shells are the best ones.If the Paiste's are 602's-well then, that changes things a bit.

The horizontal wood plies were the first thing that I noticed. The MIJ kits I've seen in the past were vertical.

I would say at 250.00 that would be a fair price for you but if it was me i would go alittle more than that maybe up to 350.00 because of the finish and cymbals...Mikey

Aria, my first new drum kit. Paid about US$ 350 in 1973, including cymbals and hardware.
