I think there would be enough buyers to make it worthwhile...slingerland, have you run it by David yet?

From Wayne Brown

Maybe on the back of the t-shirt list all of the vintage drum companies USA and others just like a rock concert tour date t- shirt.

I like this idea a LOT, also the bass drum with the site name in the "Rogers(?)" typeface it uses.

The shirt could have the logos of all these different drum companies, like the cool Fibes logo....

Contact TommyP not Dave! TommyP is the one who runs the 'day to day' at VDF. Dave is the owner but he only really involves himself with keeping the site up and running. TommyP is the one to ask. If Tommy is good with it, he'll take it to Dave.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Hey Guys!

Well... I can definitively tell you this: David's concept for this site was for it to be all about "Vintage Drum History" and the archiving of same. He/we honestly never wanted name tags.. t-shirts.. planned forum presence at drum shows.. membership pictures.. etc. HOWEVER!, that doesn't mean this isn't a nice idea. It just means it would have to be independent of the VDF.. meaning .. nothing would be channeled through the VDF. Simply put: If Gary, John, grantro, etc want to run with this, by all means! But do it "on the side", so to speak. No funds from the proceeds need go to the VDF .. unless .. it is in the standard DONATION format. That all said...

I will chat with David this week and ask him about it. I suspect that he will want to stay the course and do nothing different than we are now. I will certainly let you know! Again, please don't misunderstand, making up some t-shirts to sell to the membership is GREAT and harmless, but... he doesn't want the VDF involved in any aspect of it, and for many different reasons, not the least of which are profit/non-profit and the tax implications that come with it. An INDEPENDENT operation is a totally different thing though, and would be welcomed. THANKS!, as all of you.. our members.. are the BEST!!

ok guys if I understand Tommy correctly, we can proceed with this as long as orders/sales and such are done independently of the forum, with that said, I think I can have this gentleman come here, get the ideas for the design, that would be the first step, getting the design done.........let me talk to him and see where to go from here
