Anyone here like Slingerland Hardware??

I thought I'd put this here first, before doing the pictures-and-for-sale listings.

I have some really nice Slingerland pedals and hi hats, flat based hi hat (the 804) that's been redone, a very nce (IMHO) Dynamo that waas great to begin with, and a Yellowjacket.

All of these have had complete mechanical and cosmetic upgrades.

Also a couple of Super Speeds, which will be made into 1, with best parts harvested.

The reason I'm asking... I listed a Super restored (again IMHO) Tempo King on ebay, and it sold for $50. Well, bullsh*t. I'll hang on to them if that's the story.

Anyway... if anyone else loves this stuff as much as me (on this forum??, Nahhhh... :p ) let me know and I'll ut them in "for sale".

Hope it's okay to mention this in this section....

Unfortunately....Slingerland is the underdog of the vintage drum market. Great products with great sound, just not worth as much as Gretsch, Camco, Leedy, Rogers or Ludwig. This is bad for the seller, great for the buyer. Someday I suspect things will turn around for Slingerland......as to when? Hmmm

That's just it -- the Rodney Dangerfield of vintage drum hardware.

Which is really odd. I've worked on a variety of brands of hardware over the past year. The Slingerland Dynamo hi hat is without question the best designed, best manufacture/production... and great to play.

The hex rod design is ingenius... It works well and is very creative.

The Yellowjacket, too, is amazingly well made.

This stuff is the sleeper hardware. It could be held up as a benchmark of quality... but....

Ah well...

I love the Dynamo and have been using one since 2010 after about 15 years of using a DW 5000. I gave away my first one to an aspiring drummer, but now I have two and am seeking a third so each of my Slingerland kits will have one of its own.

I have a few Tempo Kings, but the leather strap is a bit wobbly. They are solidly built and I should take the time to get one dialed in.

Hey, had to chime in here, too.

I rarely do hardware, but the same thing happens with most Slingerland drums as well... they seem to be the "red-headed step child" of the vintage drum world.

I'd like to see that turn around. Maybe someday soon!

Put in another 2 cents (that makes it six so far).

I'm not a sophisticated musician or anything, but I have a Slingerland Ace snare drum that sounds great! It sounds like what it is: a great vintage wood snare sound. Always a hit at gigs for jazz, maybe involving some shuffles or "Motown" type tunes.

Go figure. Just think if Ringo Starr had played Slingerland!

Never a fan of Slingerland hardware, went through a lot of it in my hard hitting days, but I liked the Yellowjacket, great pedal!

I'm good on pedals and HH stand, but I'd love a pair of flat-base cymbal stands if you have any to sell.

Wouldn't ya' know? No cymbal stands. I enjoy working on the mechanicals, then trying to restore the looks. So cymbal stands... never really curious about them!
